Executive Vice President, Foundation For The Carolinas
Brian Collier currently serves as the executive vice president for Foundation For The Carolinas in Charlotte, NC and is always looking for new ways to help the entrepreneurial community. At the Foundation, Brian oversees the competitive grants programs, as well as affiliate board relationships in 13 counties throughout North and South Carolina. He also oversees the Foundation’s Robinson Center for Civic Leadership and its community initiatives including The Carolina Thread Trail (1500 mile greenways and trails program), Project LIFT ($55 million initiative to close the educational achievement gap) and the Foundation’s newest initiative to address barriers for upward mobility and economic opportunity. Under Brain’s leadership, the Foundation has launched a number of highly regarded grants programs including the $4.25 million Community Catalyst Fund to help foster collaboration and innovation in the nonprofit sector and the $7.5 million Critical Needs Response Fund to help with rising demand at safety net organizations.
Prior to joining the Foundation, Brian served as VP for Marketing and Development at KaBOOM!. Headquartered in Washington, D.C., KaBOOM! is a national nonprofit that envisions a great place to play within walking distance of every child in America.
From 2001-2005, Brian served as the founding president and executive director of The Victory Junction Gang Camp, a $30-million facility in Randleman, NC for chronically ill children. The camp was the result of a unique partnership between the NASCAR motorsports industry, NASCAR drivers Richard and Kyle Petty and actor Paul Newman.
After graduating from the University of Florida’s College of Law, Brian began his career as a trial attorney with Rumberger, Kirk and Caldwell in Orlando, FL.
